Applying for British Citizenship (Naturalisation)
Britain offers a number of different ways for those born outside the United Kingdom to become British citizens. The most common method is naturalisation. The opportunity to apply for naturalisation is open to those who can meet with current citizenship requirements. Though not an exhaustive list, the main requirements are that:
- You are at least 18 years old;
- That you are of good character;
- That you are continuing to live in the UK;
- That you meet with the stipulated residency requirements;
- That you have sat and passed your Life in the UK test That you have sat and passed an approved English language Test at level B1
In order to apply to become a British Citizen, an application form must be filled out and submitted along with supporting evidence and documentation specific to the applicant. You will also have to pay the applicable fee.
